I am tired of hearing the phrase "Modi Ki Guarantee" when I drive my car or watch the news on television. I know that he has not fulfilled many of the guarantees he gave while coming to power in 2014 and 2019. I do not want to remind him about the promises he made regarding the provision of jobs to the unemployed and depositing Rs 15 lakh in every Indian's account from the money stashed away in foreign banks.

Instead, I would like to ask him for some new guarantees to help me decide whether to vote for Modi and his party or not. Let me list them.

1. Will Modi give a guarantee that he would visit Manipur and meet the people who lost all their belongings?

2. Will Modi give a guarantee that all those who were forced to flee from the Manipur valley would be able to return to their old dwelling places in a dignified manner?

8. Will Modi give a guarantee that no disrepute to the nation is caused by letting the State Bank of India take the plea that it needs three months to publish the list of those who bought electoral bonds? More so when he knows that all the data are available in the SBI's computing system, and it takes only a few minutes to prepare the list.

9. Will Modi give a guarantee that he would not tolerate Aya Rams and Gaya Rams in politics?

10. Will Modi give a guarantee that persons who insist that Christian priests and nuns should not wear their religious dress while taking classes when the Chief Minister of a state wears his priestly dress would be punished?

11. Will Modi give a guarantee that Pope Francis would be allowed to visit India at his convenience?

40. Will Modi give a guarantee that he would improve bilateral relations with countries like China, Pakistan, and Maldives? After all, he began his tenure by making an air dash to attend a wedding in the family of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

41. Will Modi give a guarantee that he would reduce his foreign visits so that he can address the problems of the common people?

42. Will Modi give a guarantee that his party men would not raise issues about the antiquity of certain mosques and churches, as, for instance, it was claimed that a church was built by destroying a temple in Kerala?

70. Will Modi give a guarantee that no religion would be promoted at the cost of other religions?

71. Will Modi give a guarantee that the prices of essential commodities would be brought down so that even the poorest has two square meals a day?

72. Will Modi give a guarantee that "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" would not remain an empty rhetoric?

For want of space, I am not asking for more. If the Prime Minister can guarantee all this, I am sure he will elevate himself to a level no politician can reach. May wisdom guide him!
